First Tejas Express's inaugural run was on 24 May 2017 from Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus to Karmali, Goa.Second Tejas Express was flagged off by Narendra Modi on 1st March 2019 between Chennai Egmore and Madurai Junction.Currently 3 Tejas Express are operational running in between Mumbai CST-Karmali,Chennai Egmore-Madhurai,Lucknow-New Delhi.
Tejas Express is packed with all the luxurious aircraft like features from good food to good facilities .It has modern facilities on-board like CCTV cameras,LED TV, and tea/coffee vending machine.And the best part about these vending machines it that They are Free of Cost'.You can easily get food at your seat by pressing the attendant call button on your seat.And you dont need to worry about food quality now as Tejas Express provides high quality aircraft style food to its passengers.
Welcome tea, breakfast, and snacks will be provided before de-board in morning train. While in the evening train, tea and dinner is provided.Along with food baggage pick up facility is given to passengers travelling in Tejas Express on a payable basis. Under the system, the baggage of passengers is collected from their homes and will be delivered on the train seats and further from the seats to the destination stay point.
Recent notification on Tejas Express was that the Railway Board has decided to cover Borivli and three other stations including Vapi, Bharuch and Nadiad apart from Surat and Vadodara,as halts for the train that will run between Mumbai and Ahmedabad from next month.i.e January.
